Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Romaine Lettuce

Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Shake off excess water and dry the leaves using a salad spinner or patting them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  2. 2

    Chop the Lettuce

Once dry, chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  3. 3

    Add Croutons and Parmesan

Add the rustic croutons and shaved parmesan cheese to the bowl with the chopped romaine lettuce.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Dressing

In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic cloves, anchovy fillets (mashed), lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and olive oil. Whisk everything together until smooth.

  2. 5

    Season the Dressing

Taste the dressing and add salt and black pepper as needed. Mix again to combine.

  3. 6

    Combine Salad and Dressing

Drizzle the prepared Caesar dressing over the salad base. Toss gently to coat the lettuce, croutons, and parmesan evenly with the dressing.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Salad

Transfer the Caesar salad to serving plates or a large platter. Optionally, garnish with additional shaved parmesan and croutons before serving.
