Chicken Tenders
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet. This helps ensure even cooking.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate bowls, set up a breading station: one with flour mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika; one with beaten egg and buttermilk; and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dip each piece of chicken first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Make sure each piece is well-coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully add the breaded chicken tenders to the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the tenders from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
