Loaded Tots Ingredients

Method

Loaded Tots Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tater Tots

Preheat the oven according to package instructions and bake the frozen tater tots until golden and crispy, usually around 20-25 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

While the tater tots are baking, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Once cooled, chop into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Caramelize the Onions

In the same skillet with a little bacon grease, add diced onion and cook over medium-low heat until soft and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Loaded Tots

Once the tater tots are done, place them on a serving platter. Top with the chopped bacon, caramelized onions, and drizzle with hot cheese sauce. Garnish with chopped green onions.
