Ingredients for Elk Burger

Method

Directions to Make Elk Burger

  1. 1

    Prepare the Elk Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground elk meat with salt and black pepper. Mix until just combined and form into two patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the elk patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Melt the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of smoked gouda on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Buns

Slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the skillet or grill until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, the cooked elk patty with melted gouda, tomato slices, and house-made pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your elk burger!
