Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the frothy yeast mixture, warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Shaping and Second Rise

  1. 5

    Shape the Buns

Once the dough has risen, punch it down. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  2. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the shaped buns with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes until they puff up.

Baking and Topping

  1. 7

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 8

    Bake the Buns

Bake the buns in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  3. 9

    Apply Topping

Remove the buns from the oven and immediately brush them with softened butter, then sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
