Method
Preparing the Patties

Season the Beef
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix until just combined.

Form the Patties
Divide the seasoned beef into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, slightly larger than the burger bun since they'll shrink while cooking.

Prepare Lettuce
Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Tear them into manageable pieces.
- 5
Slice the Tomato
Wash the tomato and slice it into medium-thick slices.
- 6
Prepare Cheese
Have the cheddar cheese slices ready to place on the patties once they are nearly done cooking.
Making the Spread
- 7
Mix the Spread
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard. Mix until well blended.
Assembling the Burger

- 9
Layer the Ingredients
Spread the prepared sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce piece, a slice of tomato, one beef patty, a slice of cheese, and then the second beef patty on top. Finish with the top half of the bun.
