Pasta
Sauce (Optional)
Method
Cooking the Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2
Add Salt
Once the water is boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water to enhance the flavor of the pasta.
- 3
Cook Linguine
Add 400g of linguine to the boiling water. Stir gently to prevent sticking. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until al dente, according to package instructions.
- 4
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the linguine in a colander and set aside. Do not rinse the pasta, as the starch helps sauces adhere.
Preparing the Sauce (Optional)
- 5
Heat Olive Oil
In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- 6
Sauté Garlic
Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
- 7
Add Tomatoes
Add 250g of halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- 8
- 9
Add Fresh Basil and Cheese
Tear fresh basil leaves from the bunch and sprinkle over the pasta, along with 50g of grated Parmesan cheese. Toss to combine.
