Prepare Meatballs

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

Shape Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the mixture into 3 large meatballs, about 2 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Prepare Sliced Meatballs

Slice Sausage
Take the Italian sausage links and slice them into 1-inch pieces.
Make Marinara Sauce

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and chopped basil. Bring to a simmer.
Cook Meatballs

Bake Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the meatballs in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.

Add to Sauce
Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the simmering marinara sauce along with the sliced sausage. Let everything simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.
Serve

Plate the Dish
Serve the meatballs and sausage over cooked pasta if desired. Garnish with extra grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
