Pasta

Filet Mignon

Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and toss with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Filet Mignon Preparation

  1. 2

    Season the Filet Mignon

Pat the filet mignon dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Cook the Filet Mignon

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the filet mignon and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Cream Sauce

In the same skillet used for the filet mignon, lower the heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine, and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Combine and Serve

Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Slice the filet mignon and arrange on top of the pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot.
