Method

Preparation of Seafood

  1. 1

    Clean the Seafood

Thoroughly rinse the shrimp, mussels, calamari, and crab legs under cold running water. Remove any beards from the mussels and clean the shells.

  2. 2

    Pre-Cook the Seafood

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink. Add the mussels and calamari, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mussels open. Drain and set aside.

Preparation of Red Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté Garlic

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 4

    Make the Sauce

Add crushed tomatoes and red pepper flakes to the saucepan. Simmer for 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir in fresh basil before serving.

Preparation of White Sauce

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 6

    Make the White Sauce

Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add chopped parsley before serving.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine Seafood and Sauce

In a large serving platter, arrange the cooked seafood. Pour either the red sauce or white sauce over the seafood, depending on your preference.

  2. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh parsley. Serve immediately with crusty bread or over pasta.
