Method
Preparation
- 1
Wash and Prepare Raspberries
Rinse the fresh raspberries under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Gently pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. Remove any stems or leaves.
- 2
Measure Sugar and Lemon Juice
In a separate bowl, measure out 1.5 cups of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Combine them and set aside.
Cooking
- 3
Cook Raspberries
In a large saucepan, add the prepared raspberries and bring them to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

- 5
- 6
Boil and Thicken
Allow the mixture to boil for 1-2 minutes while stirring constantly. You will notice it thickening as it cooks.
Canning
- 7
Prepare Jars
While the jam is cooking, sterilize your canning jars by placing them in boiling water for 10 minutes. Remove and let them dry.
- 8
Fill Jars
Once the jam has thickened, carefully pour it into the sterilized jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace at the top. Wipe the rims of the jars with a clean cloth to remove any residue.
- 9
Seal Jars
Place the sterilized lids on top of the jars and screw on the metal bands until they are fingertip-tight.
- 10
Process Jars
Process the jars in a boiling water canner for 10 minutes to ensure they are sealed properly. Remove from the canner and let cool completely.
