Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the Setaro Strozzapreti pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually about 10-12 minutes, until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta in a colander. Set aside.
Sauce Preparation
- 3
Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic (3 cloves) and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.
- 4
Add Cherry Tomatoes
Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes start to soften and release their juices.
- 5
Combine Ingredients
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the tomatoes. Toss to combine well. If the mixture seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- 6
Season the Dish
Mix in the fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine all flavors.
- 7
Serve the Pasta
Plate the pasta and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving. Enjoy your Setaro Casarecce!
