Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, instant yeast, and salt. Mix well to ensure even distribution of the yeast and salt.
- 2
Add Wet Ingredients
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the water and olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon until the mixture starts to come together.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Shaping and Baking
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 6
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Shape it into a loaf or divide it into smaller rolls, depending on your preference.
- 7
Prepare for Baking
Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with honey and sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over the surface.
- 8
Second Rise
Cover the shaped dough with a damp cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- 9
Bake the Bread
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
