Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash and Prepare the Lemons

Thoroughly wash the fresh lemons under running water to remove any dirt or pesticides. Pat them dry with a clean towel.

  2. 2

    Cut the Lemons

Cut the washed lemons into quarters, making sure to keep the seeds intact for better preservation.

Salting Process

  1. 3

    Mix Sea Salt with Water

In a medium bowl, dissolve the sea salt in 500 ml of water. Stir until the salt is completely dissolved.

  2. 4

    Pack the Lemons

Place the quartered lemons in a clean, sterilized jar. Pour the saltwater over the lemons, ensuring they are fully submerged.

  3. 5

    Seal and Store

Seal the jar tightly and store it in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks. Shake the jar gently every few days to redistribute the saltwater.

Enhancements (Optional)

  1. 6

    Add Honey and Herbs

If desired, add honey and fresh herbs between layers of lemons before sealing the jar to enhance the flavor.
