Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Once the yeast is activated, pour it into the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Bread Types Preparation

  1. 6

    Whole Wheat Bread

After the first rise, divide the dough into two portions. To one, add whole wheat flour and knead until incorporated. Shape into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.

  2. 7

    Herb Bread

To the second portion, add herbs and garlic powder, knead until well combined. Shape into a round loaf and place on a baking sheet.

  3. 8

    Cheese Bread

For the third type, incorporate cheese into the remaining dough, knead until mixed. Shape into rolls and place on a baking sheet.

Final Rise and Baking

  1. 9

    Second Rise

Cover the shaped loaves/rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

  2. 10

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  3. 11

    Bake

Bake all types of bread for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.

Serving

  1. 12

    Serve with Olive Oil

Drizzle olive oil on a serving plate and sprinkle with sea salt. Slice the breads and serve warm with the olive oil mixture.
