Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine equal parts water and sugar (e.g., 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar). Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Allow to cool before using. This will yield more than needed, but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a month.

  2. 2

    Juicing the Lemons

Juice fresh lemons until you have 100 ml of lemon juice. Strain the juice to remove any seeds and pulp for a smoother beverage.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large glass or pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice (100 ml) and simple syrup (50 ml). Stir well to combine.

  4. 4

    Add Sparkling Water

Slowly pour in the sparkling water (250 ml) to the lemon and syrup mixture. Stir gently to maintain the carbonation.

  5. 5

    Garnish the Drink

Add lemon slices and fresh mint leaves for garnish. You can also muddle the mint leaves slightly in the mixture for added flavor.

  6. 6

    Serve

Pour the limonata into glasses filled with ice and enjoy immediately.
