Dried Tomato Filling

Method

Dried Tomato Filling

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dried Tomatoes

In a bowl, combine the dried tomatoes, olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, red chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the tomatoes are evenly coated with the marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate

Cover the bowl and let the tomatoes marinate at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Panino Assembly

  1. 3

    Assemble the Panino

On one half of each ciabatta piece, layer fresh mozzarella slices, the marinated dried tomatoes, and fresh basil leaves.

  2. 4

    Drizzle Balsamic

Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the basil leaves.

  3. 5

    Close the Sandwich

Top with the other half of the ciabatta to close the sandwich.

  4. 6

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush the outside of the ciabatta with olive oil to help it crisp up during grilling.

  5. 7

    Grill the Panino

Heat a panini press or skillet over medium heat. Grill the sandwich for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
