Method
Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Shake off excess water and dry using a salad spinner or by patting with paper towels. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Add Croutons and Parmesan
Add the croutons to the bowl with the romaine lettuce. Grate or shave the 0.5 cup of parmesan cheese and sprinkle it over the salad.
Dressing Preparation
- 3
Make the Caesar Dressing
In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic (2 cloves), lemon juice (2 tablespoons), Worcestershire sauce (1 teaspoon), and Dijon mustard (1 teaspoon). Whisk together until smooth and well combined.
- 4
Season the Dressing
Taste the dressing and add salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as desired.
Combine and Serve
- 5
Combine Salad and Dressing
Drizzle the prepared Caesar dressing over the romaine lettuce, croutons, and parmesan in the salad bowl. Toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly with the dressing.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle the additional 0.25 cup of parmesan cheese over the top of the salad as a garnish. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
