Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Artichokes

Trim the stems of the artichokes to about 1 inch and remove any small leaves near the base. Cut off the top third of each artichoke using a sharp knife.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic Mixture

Mince the garlic cloves and combine them in a bowl with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Artichokes

Gently open the artichokes and brush the marinade generously on the inside and outside of each artichoke. Allow them to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).

  2. 5

    Grill the Artichokes

Place the marinated artichokes on the grill and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are tender and have nice grill marks.

  3. 6

    Add Optional Toppings

If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the artichokes during the last few minutes of grilling, or drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the grilled artichokes from the grill and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm with additional olive oil or balsamic glaze on the side for dipping.
