Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Rinse the Edamame

Place the fresh edamame pods in a colander and rinse them under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris.

  2. 2

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  3. 3

    Add Salt

Once the water is boiling, add 2 teaspoons of salt to the water and stir to dissolve.

  4. 4

    Cook the Edamame

Carefully add the rinsed edamame pods to the boiling water. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, depending on the desired tenderness. They should be bright green and slightly tender but still firm.

  5. 5

    Drain the Edamame

Once cooked, remove the pot from heat and drain the edamame in a colander.

  6. 6

    Cool and Serve

Let the edamame cool for a couple of minutes before serving. You can sprinkle some additional salt on top if desired.
