Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Salmon

Place the sashimi grade salmon steaks in a shallow dish. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the salmon, ensuring that each piece is well coated. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garnishes

While the salmon is marinating, finely chop the green onions and set them aside. Toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until they become golden and fragrant.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Salmon

Preheat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade and let any excess sauce drip off. Place the salmon on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and has nice grill marks.

  2. 4

    Serve the Salmon

Once cooked, remove the salmon from the grill and place it on a serving platter. Drizzle with any remaining teriyaki sauce and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish.
