Cooking Ingredients

Method

Preparation of Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the Teriyaki Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Thicken the Sauce

In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Add this mixture to the teriyaki sauce, stirring constantly until it thickens. Set aside.

Cooking the Shrimp and Vegetables

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the large shrimp to the skillet and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 5

    Stir-fry the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  4. 6

    Combine Everything

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and well coated with the sauce.

  5. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onion and sesame seeds. Serve immediately over rice or noodles if desired.
