Method
Marinade Preparation
- 1
Make the Marinade
In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
- 2
Add Green Onions
Stir in the chopped green onions into the marinade mixture.
Marinating the Beef
- 3
Marinate the Beef
Place the thinly sliced beef sirloin in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the beef, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Cooking
- 4
Cook the Beef
Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Cook the beef in batches for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
Serving
- 5
Plate the Dish
Serve the cooked beef bulgogi over a bed of cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve with lettuce leaves to wrap the beef.
