Method

Preparation of Squid

  1. 1

    Clean and Prepare the Squid

Rinse the fresh squid under cold water. Remove the head, innards, and skin. Cut the body into rings or strips as desired.

  2. 2

    Cook the Squid

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the cleaned squid and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn opaque. Avoid overcooking. Drain and let cool.

Preparation of Vegetables

  1. 3

    Slice the Vegetables

Thinly slice the cucumber, carrot, and radish into matchstick sizes. Soak the wakame seaweed in warm water for about 10 minutes, then drain and chop.

Making the Dressing

  1. 4

    Combine the Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.

Combining the Salad

  1. 5

    Mix Ingredients Together

In a large bowl, combine the cooked squid, sliced vegetables, and soaked wakame. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss everything together until well coated.

  2. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top. Serve immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes for flavors to meld.
