Dough and Filling
Method
Preparation and Baking
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm and the butter is melted. Let it cool slightly.
- 2
Activate Yeast
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk mixture, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- 3
Mix Ingredients
Add eggs, salt, and half of the flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until combined. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
- 4
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5
Let it Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 6
Prepare Filling
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
- 7
Roll the Dough
Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the filling mixture over the dough evenly.
- 8
Shape the Rolls
Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
- 9
Second Rise
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- 10
Bake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
