Poutine Fries Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fries

Cook the frozen French fries according to package instructions until crispy and golden brown. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the French Onion Gravy

In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring frequently, until the onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 3

    Thicken the Gravy

Sprinkle the flour over the caramelized onions and stir to combine. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the flour is lightly browned.

  4. 4

    Add Broth

Gradually add the beef broth, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until thickened, about 5-10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Poutine

On a serving plate, layer the crispy fries, pour the hot French onion gravy over them, and sprinkle generously with shredded Gruyère cheese and chopped green onions.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot and enjoy your delicious Poutine Fries!
