Acai base

Method

Acai base

  1. 1

    Prepare Frozen Fruit

Break the frozen açaí packets into chunks (run under warm water briefly if stuck together) so they blend smoother.

  2. 2

In a high-speed blender, add the frozen açaí chunks, frozen mixed berries, 1 cup sliced banana (reserve 1/2 cup for topping), and the almond milk. Add honey or agave.

  3. 3

Pulse the blender a few times to break up the fruit, then blend on high until thick and smooth. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add 1–2 tablespoons more almond milk at a time — keep it thick like soft-serve ice cream, not runny.

  4. 4

Taste and adjust sweetness with a little more honey/agave if desired. If you want extra thickness and body, scrape the bowl, add the rolled oats and chia seeds, and pulse 1–2 times to incorporate.

Crunch & mix-ins

  1. 5

Mix the granola with any optional mix-ins (hemp seeds or crushed nuts) in a small bowl so toppings are ready to assemble.

  2. 6

If you prefer the granola softer, you can briefly sprinkle a few drops of almond milk and let it sit for 1 minute before using.

Toppings & assembly

  1. 7

Divide the açaí base between two bowls (or one large bowl). Use a spatula to smooth the top.

  2. 8

Arrange the reserved banana slices, fresh berries, and kiwi in rows or clusters on the açaí surface.

  3. 9

Sprinkle the granola mixture over one side of each bowl for crunch.

  4. 10

Scatter coconut flakes and hemp seeds (or crushed nuts) over the bowls.

  5. 11

Drizzle a teaspoon of peanut butter over each bowl (warm the peanut butter 5–10 seconds in the microwave if necessary to loosen) and finish with a light drizzle of honey or agave.

  6. 12

Serve immediately with a spoon so the base stays thick and cold.
