Main Ingredients

Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Slow Roast the Brisket

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rub the beef brisket with salt, black pepper, and your choice of spices. Place it in a roasting pan and cover with foil. Roast for about 4 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shreds.

Hash Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Ingredients

Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes. Chop the onion and bell peppers. Shred the cooked brisket into bite-sized pieces once it's done roasting.

  2. 3

    Make the Chipotle Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the chipotle peppers, garlic powder, cumin, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a smooth sauce.

  3. 4

    Cook the Hash

In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes until they are golden and tender. Add the chopped onion and bell peppers and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Stir in the shredded brisket and chipotle sauce, cook for another 5 minutes until everything is heated through.

  4. 5

    Add Toppings

Once the hash is fully cooked, sprinkle the top with shredded cheddar cheese and sliced jalapenos. Cover the skillet for a few minutes until the cheese is melted.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Hash

Spoon the southwestern brisket hash onto plates and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious meal!
