Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally to break it up, approximately 5-7 minutes.

Mix in Sauce Ingredients
Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
- 5
Simmer the Mixture
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld together.
- 6
Prepare the Buns
While the mixture is simmering, lightly toast the hamburger buns in a separate skillet or under the broiler if desired.
- 7
Assemble the Sloppy Joes
Spoon a generous portion of the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted hamburger bun. Place the top half of the bun over the filling.
- 8
Serve
Serve the sloppy joes hot with your favorite sides, such as potato chips or a salad.
