Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the NY sirloin steak with olive oil, then generously season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to high heat. Place the seasoned steak on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time according to your preferred doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 3

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the large potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot, cover with water, and add 1 tsp of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 4

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 5

    Sauté the Green Beans

Trim the ends of the green beans and rinse them. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, then add the green beans. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender but crisp. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Country Gravy Preparation

  1. 6

    Make the Gravy

In a saucepan, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
