Method
Preparing the Tea
- 1
Boil the Water
In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.
- 2
Steep the Tea
Once the water reaches a boil, remove it from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.
- 3
Remove Tea Bags
After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the saucepan and discard them.
Sweetening the Tea
- 4
Add Sweetener (if desired)
If you prefer sweet tea, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar or 1/2 cup of honey while the tea is still warm. Mix well until fully dissolved.
Adding Flavor
- 5
Enhance Flavor (if desired)
For added flavor, stir in 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice and add about 10 mint leaves, gently bruising them to release their flavor.
Cooling and Serving
- 6
Cool the Tea
Allow the tea to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour.
- 7
Serve
To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes (about 2 cups) and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with a lemon slice and additional mint leaves if desired.
