Method

For the Buttermilk Biscuits

  1. 1

    Make the Biscuit Dough

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined.

  2. 2

    Shape and Bake the Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times. Pat it into a 1-inch thick round. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or glass. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

For the Sausage Patties

  1. 3

    Prepare the Sausage Mixture

In a bowl, combine ground pork sausage, black pepper, sage, salt, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.

  2. 4

    Cook the Sausage Patties

Shape the sausage mixture into patties. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.

For the Country Gravy

  1. 5

    Make the Roux

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbly and light brown.

  2. 6

    Add Milk and Season

Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Season with black pepper and salt. Keep warm over low heat.

For the Eggs

  1. 7

    Cook the Eggs

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook to your desired doneness. Season with salt and black pepper.

For the Home Potatoes or Hash Browns

  1. 8

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes. Toss in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 9

    Cook the Potatoes

In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the potatoes until golden brown and crispy, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
