Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well combined and slightly frothy.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bread

Take the slices of thick bread and set them aside. Ensure the bread is stale or slightly dry for best results.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or griddle, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until it starts to bubble.

  2. 4

    Cook the French Toast

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side. Place the soaked bread on the hot skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side.

  3. 5

    Repeat and Finish

Add more butter as needed and repeat the soaking and cooking process for the remaining slices of bread.

  4. 6

    Serve

Once all the slices are cooked, stack them on a plate, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm.
