Steak and Fries

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fries

Preheat the oven according to the fries package instructions. Spread the shoestring fries on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Bake until golden and crispy, about 20-25 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Season the flat iron steaks with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove the steaks and let them rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Make the Red Wine Demi

In the same skillet, add red wine and beef stock. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer until the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes. Stir in butter until melted.

  4. 4

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, create a tower of shoestring fries. Top with the cooked flat iron steak, caramelized onions, and a dollop of chimichurri butter. Drizzle the red wine demi over the steak and serve immediately.
