Flan Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Make the Caramel

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns into a golden brown caramel. Quickly pour the caramel into the bottom of a flan mold or individual ramekins, tilting to coat the bottom.

  2. 2

    Mix the Flan Mixture

In a blender, combine the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine and Bake

Pour the flan mixture over the caramel in the mold. Place the mold in a larger baking dish filled with hot water (water bath). Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 50-60 minutes, or until the flan is set.

  4. 4

    Cool and Unmold

Let the flan cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate.
