Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Patty Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the mixture into a burger patty that is approximately 12oz in weight and about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patty for 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your preferred doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 4

    Add Toppings

Once the burger is nearly cooked, place a slice of Swiss cheese and 2oz of sliced ham on top of the patty. Cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese for about 1 minute.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Bread

While the cheese is melting, toast the rye bread slices lightly in a toaster or on the grill.

  3. 6

    Construct the Burger

On one slice of toasted rye bread, place the lettuce leaves, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese and ham. Add slices of tomato on top, and finish with the second slice of rye bread.

French Fries Preparation

  1. 7

    Cook the French Fries

Prepare the frozen French fries according to package instructions, typically baking or frying them until golden and crispy.

  2. 8

    Season the Fries

Once cooked, sprinkle the fries with salt to taste.
