Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients needed for the sandwich: marble rye bread, lean corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and butter.
- 2
Drain the Sauerkraut
Open the can or jar of sauerkraut and drain it thoroughly to remove excess liquid. This will prevent the sandwich from becoming soggy.
Cooking
- 3
Butter the Bread
Spread butter generously on one side of each slice of marble rye bread.
- 4
Assemble the Sandwich
Place 2 slices of bread butter-side down on a clean surface. Layer with half of the corned beef, half of the sauerkraut, and 2 slices of Swiss cheese on each. Top with the remaining corned beef, sauerkraut, and cheese, then finish with the other 2 slices of bread butter-side up.
