Red Baron Burger Recipe

Burger Patty

Prepare the Patty
In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into two equal patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Prepare the Bacon
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Candy the Bacon
In a bowl, mix brown sugar and maple syrup. Dip each bacon strip in the mixture and place it on the baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until crispy.

Mix the Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
Slaw

Prepare the Slaw
In a bowl, shred the red cabbage and carrot. Add mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.

Assemble the Burger
Toast the pretzel buns lightly. Place a burger patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a slice of smoked Cheddar, a few pieces of candied bacon, BBQ sauce, slaw, and fried pickles. Cover with the top half of the bun.
