Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Dice the black forest ham, roasted pork loin, bell pepper, and onion into small pieces. Mince the garlic cloves.

  2. 2

    Open Canned Goods

Drain and rinse the canned kidney beans and black beans. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 4

    Brown the Meats

Add the ground beef to the pot and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Then, add the diced black forest ham and roasted pork loin. Cook for another 5 minutes.

  3. 5

    Combine the Ingredients

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the meat and vegetables.

  4. 6

    Add Beans and Broth

Pour in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, kidney beans, black beans, and corn. Stir to combine all ingredients.

  5. 7

    Simmer the Chili

Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld, stirring occasionally.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Chili

Ladle the chili into bowls and serve hot. Optionally, garnish with sour cream, shredded cheese, or chopped green onions.
