Fried Pickle Chips

Ranch Dressing

Method

Fried Pickle Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dipping Stations

Set up three shallow bowls for the breading process. In the first bowl, add the all-purpose flour mixed with salt, black pepper, and paprika. In the second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In the third bowl, combine cornmeal with a pinch of salt.

  2. 2

    Coat the Pickles

Take a kosher dill pickle chip, dip it into the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, followed by a coating of cornmeal. Ensure that each chip is evenly coated with cornmeal.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the breaded pickle chips to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the fried pickle chips hot with ranch dressing on the side.

Ranch Dressing

  1. 6

    Mix the Dressing

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk. Whisk until smooth.

  2. 7

    Add Seasonings

Stir in dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to taste. Mix well to combine.

  3. 8

    Chill

Cover the ranch dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
