Burger Preparation
- 1
Make the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well incorporated.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into half-pound patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
Toppings Preparation
- 3
Caramelize the Onions
Slice the onion thinly. In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil and the onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- 4
Cook the Bacon
In the same skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Cook the Knockwurst
Slice the knockwurst into small pieces and cook in the skillet until heated through and slightly browned.
Curry Sauce Preparation
- 6
Make the Curry Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine ketchup, curry powder, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook over medium heat for about 5-10 minutes, stirring frequently until well mixed and heated.

Assemble the Burger
Toast the burger buns lightly. Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on the bottom bun, top with caramelized onions, crispy bacon, chopped knockwurst, and drizzle the curry sauce over everything. Add the top bun.
- 9
Serve with Fries
Serve the Currywurst Burger with a side of fries. Drizzle any remaining curry sauce on the fries if desired.
