Waffle Ingredients
Method
Waffle Directions
- 1
Prepare the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- 2
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 3
Cook the Waffles
Pour the batter onto the preheated waffle iron, using enough to cover the surface but not overflow. Close the lid and cook until golden brown and crisp, usually about 5 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- 4
Prepare the Toppings
Wash and prepare fresh berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries).
- 5
Make Whipped Cream
In a bowl, whip heavy cream (1 cup) and sugar (1-2 tbs) until soft peaks form. You may add vanilla extract to taste.
- 6
Serve
Top each waffle with fresh berries and a generous dollop of whipped cream.
