Tortilla Chips
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Tortilla Chips
1. Cut the corn tortillas into wedges (six pieces per tortilla). 2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. 3. Once the oil is hot, fry the tortilla wedges in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. 4. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. 5. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Make the Salsa
1. Dice the tomatoes and onion. 2. Finely chop the jalapeño (remove seeds for less heat, if desired). 3. In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro. 4. Add lime juice and salt, mixing well. 5. Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
