Jam Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Strawberries

Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly, remove the stems, and cut them into halves or quarters depending on your preference.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the prepared strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well to ensure the strawberries are coated with sugar. Let it sit for about 30 minutes to macerate.

  3. 3

    Cook the Jam

Transfer the strawberry mixture to a large saucepan. Add the pectin and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a rolling boil.

  4. 4

    Boil and Test

Once boiling, let it cook for 1-2 minutes. To test for readiness, place a small amount on a cold plate and check if it holds its shape.

  5. 5

    Jar and Seal

Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace. Seal the jars tightly and let them cool to room temperature.
