Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pattern

Using the pattern paper, trace out the crew neck sweatshirt pattern, including the front, back, sleeves, and ribbing for the neckline and cuffs. Cut out the pieces.

  2. 2

    Cut the Fabric

Lay the fleece fabric on a flat surface and pin the pattern pieces onto the fabric. Cut around the pattern to create the front, back, and sleeves. Also cut out the ribbing pieces.

  3. 3

    Sew the Shoulders

With right sides together, pin the front and back pieces at the shoulders. Sew along the shoulder seams.

  4. 4

    Attach the Sleeves

Pin the sleeves to the armholes of the sweatshirt and sew them in place.

  5. 5

    Sew the Side Seams

With right sides together, pin the side seams from the bottom of the sleeve to the bottom of the sweatshirt. Sew along the side seams.

  6. 6

    Add the Ribbing

Sew the ribbing to the neckline and the cuffs of the sleeves. Make sure to stretch the ribbing slightly as you sew for a snug fit.

  7. 7

    Finish the Hem

Fold the bottom hem of the sweatshirt up and pin it in place. Sew around the hem to finish.

  8. 8

    Final Touches

Trim any loose threads, and your cozy crew neck sweatshirt is ready to wear!
