Method

Baking the Cake

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your desired cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk until well combined.

  6. 6

    Add Flavor Variations

For different flavors, incorporate the flavoring ingredients as per your choice (almond extract, cocoa powder, strawberry puree, grated carrot, Nutella, or shredded coconut).

  7. 7

    Bake the Cake

Divide the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Cool the Cakes

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Frosting the Cake

  1. 9

    Prepare the Frosting

In a bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until smooth. Add milk and vanilla extract and mix until creamy.

  2. 10

    Frost the Cake

Once the cakes are completely cool, spread the frosting between the layers and on top of the cake.
