Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Split the Batter

Divide the batter evenly into three bowls. Leave one bowl plain for vanilla, mix cocoa powder into the second bowl for chocolate, and mix strawberry puree into the third bowl for strawberry flavor. Add brewed coffee to one portion for a coffee flavor, if desired.

Baking

  1. 6

    Bake the Cakes

Pour each batter into its prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  2. 7

    Cool the Cakes

Once baked, remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.

Serving

  1. 8

    Assemble the Cake

Once cool, layer the cakes as desired, frosting between layers with your favorite frosting.

  2. 9

    Serve

Slice and serve the cakes, offering vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or coffee options to your guests.
