Method
Preparing the Steak
- 1
- 2
Grill the Steak
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Making the Fries
- 3
Prep the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while hot.
Preparing the Side Salad
- 6
Assemble the Salad
In a large bowl, combine mixed salad greens, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumber.
- 7
Dress the Salad
In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Drizzle over the salad and toss gently to coat.
