Hake Fish

Poutine

Method

Prepare Hake Fish

  1. 1

    Season the Fish

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Brush the mixture over both sides of the hake fillets.

  2. 2

    Cook the Fish

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the seasoned hake fillets in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Prepare Poutine

  1. 3

    Cook French Fries

Prepare the frozen French fries according to package instructions, either by baking or frying them until they are golden and crispy.

  2. 4

    Assemble Poutine

Once the fries are cooked, place them on a serving plate. Pour hot gravy over the fries and sprinkle cheese curds on top. Allow the heat from the gravy to slightly melt the cheese curds.

  3. 5

    Garnish

Sprinkle chopped parsley over the assembled poutine for added flavor and color.

Serve

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Serve the cooked hake fillets alongside the poutine. Enjoy immediately while hot.
