- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Chips
Carefully place the potato fries into the hot oil in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Fry the Fish
Dip each cod fillet into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Salad Base
Wash and dry the romaine lettuce, then chop into bite-sized pieces. Place in a large salad bowl.

Add Vegetables
Halve the cherry tomatoes, slice the cucumber, and thinly slice the red onion. Add all to the bowl with the lettuce.
- 8
Add Cheese and Dressing
If making a Greek salad, crumble the feta cheese over the top. For a Caesar salad, drizzle the Caesar dressing over the salad and add croutons.
- 9
Dress the Salad
Drizzle olive oil and lemon juice over the salad, then season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss gently to combine.
